Hungary

ELI-Hungary is based on the assumption that under the market conditions of Hungary a significant part of lighting upgrades is economically feasible. Implementation is hindered by poor awareness and capabilities of the market players, both sellers and buyers. Based on this assumption ELI-Hungary contains the following elements:

  • 1. Awareness development, improving consumer confidence in efficient lighting technologies - both residential and non-residential.
  • 2. Many-sided assistance to the players of the market, with special emphasis to Energy Service Companies (ESCOs).
  • 3. Establishing co-operation between the different players in the lighting market.
  • 4. Investment subsidies on a limited basis.

The Budget for ELI-Hungary was US$1.25 million.

DPC is working together with local partners in the recipient countries, and in Hungary the local consultancy tasks are executed by EGI Contracting Engineering Co. Ltd. (EGI Energiagazdálkodási Rt.).

The budget for ELI-Hungary is $1,250,000.
