The IFC/GEF Efficient Lighting Initiative (ELI)
2003 FAQ update

What can the Next Generation of ELI offer to manufacturers?

Manufacturers will benefit from the Next Generation of ELI much the same way as they do now: manufacturers can submit for ELI qualification their lighting products that meet ELI’s performance criteria. Obtaining ELI qualification will give manufacturers access to an expanded set of buyers from a broad global market. The Next Generation of ELI will work to ensure that ELI-qualified products are given purchase priority by government, utilities, or large retailers.

ELI will continue processing applications for ELI qualification, as before, through the end of 2003. After that time, applications will be handled by CECP. CECP will be sending out letter to inform manufacturers of the new contact information for applications; this information will also be on the ELI web site.
